Resolved that the Rules of Procedure be temporarily suspended by an affirmative vote of two-thirds to permit John Read to delegate.

Resolved that the May 13th, 2025, Grimsby Heritage Advisory Committee agenda be approved as amended.

Resolved that the 10 minute delegation be extended for an additional 5 minutes.

Resolved that the Rules of Procedure be temporarily suspended by an affirmative vote two-thirds to permit John Read's (the property owner) partner to delegate.

Resolved that the delegations from John Read (Property Owner) and the Property Owner's Partner be received.

Resolved that Report H.R. 25-06 - Heritage Property Recommendation Report – 7 Patton Street be received; and 1. That the Grimsby Heritage Advisory Committee has been consulted.

Resolved that the Grimsby Heritage Advisory Committee minutes of April 8th, 2025 be received

Resolved that the verbal update regarding the Working Group be received.

Resolved that Report H.R. 25-05 – Municipal Register Removal Request – 251 Murray Street be received; and 1. That the Grimsby Heritage Advisory Committee recommends the dwelling at 251 Murray Street be removed from the Municipal Heritage Register following exhaustive review and evaluation against the Ontario Regulation 9/06, as the dwelling does not strongly merit designation under section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act; and 2. That the removal of 251 Murray Street from the Municipal Heritage Register be provided with the following recommendations: 1. That adaptive reuse be considered for the resource to avoid high quality materials and available cultural heritage being removed from the subject lands. 2. That the dwelling at 251 Murray Street be photo documented and copies be provided to the Grimsby Historical Society for their archives; and, 3. That in the event that demolition in the future does occur, efforts be made by the property owners to commemorate the associative history of the property through a plaque; and, 4. That in the event that demolition in the future does occur, viable materials be salvaged to the greatest extent possible, including the exterior masonry, to prevent high-quality materials from entering the landfill. 5. That if possible viable materials be reintegrated into the new construction.

Resolved that Report H.R. 25-07 - Porch Demolition Request – 229 Main Street West be received; and 1. That the demolition request for the porch at 229 Main Street West be recommended for approval; and 2. That the porch on 229 Main Street West be photo documented and copies be provided to the Grimsby Historical Society for their archives; and 3. That the property remains listed on the Municipal Heritage Register to allow for further review in the future.

Resolved that Information Report H.R 25-08 - Proposed Amendments to the Ontario Heritage Act, Schedule 7 of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025 be received.
