Public Works Committee

Resolved that Report DPW14-33, dated July 28, 2014, regarding Supply and Delivery of Fuel Products - Region of Niagara Public Purchasing Committee #RFT14-01 May 7, 2014 be received; and further, that the lowest Request for Tender (RFT) bid for #RFT14- 01 submitted by Lippert & Wright Fuels Inc., St. Catharines, Ontario be approved for Town use; and further, that the Town enter into an agreement for the three-year tender period with Page 2 of 4 Public Works Committee August 13, 2014 consideration for the contract to be extended for two (2) additional one-year periods.

Bentley; Resolved that Report DPW14-34 dated August 7, 2014 regarding the tender Award of Contract PWC14-04-400026 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation be received and that the Director of Public Works be authorized to award the contract to PipeFlo Contracting Corp. in the total tender amount of $127,710.00 (excluding HST) and further, that the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized to execute the contract documents.

Bentley; Resolved that Report DPW14-35 dated August 8, 2014 regarding 2014/2015 Meter Replacement Project be received and that a proposed $1,287,975.00 contract (excluding H.S.T.) and the Provisional Items estimated at 5% ($ 64,400.00) be received that the proposed contract with Neptune Technology Group (Canada) Ltd. for the Turnkey replacement of 3,963 Town water meters be approved and the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized to execute the contract and further that “Provisional Item - (g)” costs assessed to the Town by Neptune for a failure to comply by the homeowner be charged back to the homeowner’s water bill, subject to review by the Director of Public Works.

DiFlavio; Resolved that Report DPW14-36, dated August 7, 2014, regarding Award of Contract PWC14-52130-B, Supply of One (1) New 2014 or 2015 Full-Size Standard Cab Pickup Truck (6,000 lbs. GVWR) be received; and further, that the quote from Grimsby Ford Sales & Service of Grimsby, Ontario in the amount of $22,155.91 ($19,607 plus HST) for one (1) new 2014 full-size standard cab pickup truck be accepted.

DiFlavio; Resolved that the correspondence received from Teresa Mueller, coordinator for the Grimsby Terry Fox Run scheduled for Sunday, September 14, 2014 requesting use of Town roads be approved by Council; subject to all required permits, certificate of insurance and notifications to emergency services, local newspapers and residents, being received prior to the event date.

Bentley; Resolved that the Notice of Commencement of Environmental Assessment for the West End Waterfront Trail - Phase 1 and 3 be received for information and filed.

Resolved that the Grimsby DIA meeting minutes of June 17, 2014 be received as circulated and filed for records purposes.
