Public Works Committee

Resolved that Report DPW11-13 dated March 22, 2011 regarding Sumner Crescent Townhouse Units – QEW Noise Concerns be received and that the Director of Public Works proceed with a third party Noise Consultant review of four random Sumner Crescent townhouse units to establish if internal MOE Noise Guidelines have been met, as recommended herein; also ensuring that sound evaluations be done during the night, day and further that upper and lower floors as well as front yard spaces be assessed.

Resolved that Report DPW11-12 dated March 30, 2011 be received and that the Director of Public Works be authorized to obtain formal quotations for the purchase of one ½ ton pick-up truck to add to the Public Works Fleet in order to provide a vehicle for use of the Town‟s Contract Water Meter Reader.

Resolved that the Report DPW11-14 dated March 31, 2011 regarding Proposed „No Parking‟ Restrictions on Dorchester Drive Fronting Dorchester Park‟ be received and that the Town‟s Traffic By-law 89-2000 be amended to include the following within Schedule “C” (Parking Prohibitions): Highway Side From To Time Dorchester South 150 metres 60 metres Anytime Drive east of the easterly centreline of therefrom Heathecote Court

Resolved, that the correspondence received from InStride Productions Ltd. dated November 9, 2010 to request approval for the Tim Horton‟s Peachbud 1K, 5K and10K Races on Town roads scheduled Tuesday, June 28, 2011 subject to all notifications and insurance requirements be received prior to the event.

Resolved, that the correspondence received from InStride Productions Ltd. dated November 9, 2010 to request approval for the Tim Horton‟s Casablanca Classic 8K Race on Town roads scheduled Saturday, November 12, 2011 subject to all notifications, Regional permits (if applicable) and insurance requirements be received prior to the event.

Resolved that the correspondence received from the Grimsby Festival of Art Chairperson, Sarina Labonte dated March 21, 2011 to request to hold their event and road closure of Nelles Boulevard on Saturday, September 10, 2011 be received for Committee approval subject to Certificate of Insurance naming the Town of Grimsby as co-insured, resident and emergency notification and confirmation of special duty officer for traffic control and road closure requirements through the Town‟s Operation Centre.

Resolved that correspondence received from the DIA dated March 3, 2011 be received for information and filed.

Resolved that the DIA Meeting minutes of February 17, 2011 be received for information and filed.
