Public Works Committee

Resolved that the petition from residents on Strathearn Avenue, Beverly Street and William Avenue be received and that staff be directed to carry out a traffic study to review the area and report back to Council once complete.

Resolved that Report DPW20-02 dated February 12, 2020 regarding ‘Award of Nelles Road and Dorchester Drive Traffic Study’ be received, and that the Acting Director of Public Works be authorized to award the project to EXP Services Inc. in the total estimated amount of $33,000 (excluding HST).

Resolved that Report No. DPW20-03, dated February 12, 2020, regarding the Assumption of Municipal Services for Dorchester Estates Subdivision, Phase 4 be received, and further, that the Acting Director of Public Works be authorized to release the Letter of Credit in the amount of $399,044.00, and that the Director of Public Works be authorized to issue the Final Certificate of Completion of Services, and further, that the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized to execute the necessary Roadway Assumption By-law.

Resolved that Report DPW20-04 dated February 12, 2020 regarding 'New Consolidated Traffic By-law' be received, and that the prepared updated traffic by-law be approved and implemented.

Resolved that Report DPW20-05 dated February 12, 2020, regarding the ‘2019 Annual Drinking Water System Water Quality Report’, be received by Town of Grimsby Council for review and information.

Resolved that the Public Works Committee recommends Report DPW20- 06 dated February 12, 2020, regarding the ‘2019 Annual Drinking Water System Municipal Summary Report’, be received by Town of Grimsby Council for review and information.

Resolved that the Niagara Regional Project Notice regarding the Watermain Replacement between Murray Street and Baker Road North be received as circulated and filed for records purposes.

Resolved that the correspondence request dated January 28, 2020 from Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer Event coordinator, Bas de Beer, for authorization to use Town roads for their event scheduled for June 13 and 14, 2020, be received for Committee approval; subject to all required documents being received prior to the event.
