Planning Development Committee

Resolved that Report P.A. 17-28 regarding the recommendation that the Town of Grimsby enter into a Downtown Façade Improvement Grant and Heritage Improvement and Restoration Grant Agreement with Beans of a Tree Inc. at 1 Main Street East, be received. And that the Façade Improvement Grant and Heritage Improvement and Restoration Grant application for 1 Main Street East be approved subject to the following conditions: 1. The owner of 1 Main Street East is to enter into a Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Agreement with the Town; 2. The building at 1 Main Street East is to be designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act. 3. Following the designation of the building under the Heritage Act, the owner of 1 Main Street East is to enter into a Heritage Improvement and Restoration Grant Agreement with the Town; and 4. The submission of a new quote(s) that reflect the proposed works following the consideration of paint removal systems for the brickwork. And that the associated by-laws authorizing the execution of a Downtown Façade Improvement Grant and Heritage Improvement and Restoration Grant Agreement be forwarded to Council for approval upon clearance of the conditions.

Wilson; Resolved that Report P.A. 17-29 regarding the recommendation that the Old Hamilton Bank Building at 1 Main Street East be received; Page 3 of 5 Planning & Development Committee October 17, 2017 And that the notice of intention to designate be issued under Part IV Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act for the Old Hamilton Bank Building at 1 Main Street East.

Resolved that the revised Hospital Precinct Secondary Plan and Urban Design Guidelines Terms of Reference & Request for Proposals dated October 2017, be received and endorsed with a municipal contribution of up to $50,000, subject to matching funding from the Niagara Region, and that qualified consultants be circulated the Terms of Reference and invited to submit proposals to undertake the project.

Resolved that the Planning & Development Committee go into Closed Session Under Section 239 2(b) personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees - appointment of Heritage Committee Members.

Resolved that Report P.A. 17-10 entitled “Committee Appointments Heritage Grimsby Advisory Committee dated October 17, 2017”, be received.

Resolved that the minutes of the GEDAC meeting of September 27th, be received as information.
