Public Works Committee

Resolved that the Public Works Committee recommends consideration of Report DPW17-04 dated March 2, 2017 regarding Page 2 of 5 Public Works Committee March 8, 2017 the proposed creation of a Grimsby Active Transportation Committee (GATC) to become an Advisory Committee of the Town and that staff proceed in this matter subject to Council’s approval of the following with further discussion in regard to Terms of Reference and Budgeting.

Resolved that a Grimsby Active Transportation Advisory Committee be established with a Terms of Reference and a budget of $1000.00.

Resolved that Report DPW17-11, dated February 22, 2017, regarding Contract for 2017 Catch Basin Cleaning be received; and further, that the bid from Flow Kleen Technology for catch basin cleaning at the 2017 unit price of $19.75 (HST excluded) be accepted; and further, that the optional two-year separate unit prices of $20.15 in the second year (HST excluded) and $20.55 (HST excluded) in the third year also be accepted.

Resolved that Report DPW17-12, dated March 2, 2017, regarding Award of Contract PWC17-52130-A, Supply of One (1) New 2017 Full-Size Standard Cab Pickup Truck (6,000 lbs. GVWR) be received; and further, that the bid from Niagara Motors, Virgil, Ontario, in the amount of $24,400 (excluding HST) for one (1) new 2017 full-size standard cab pickup truck (6,000 lbs. GVWR) be accepted.

DiFlavio; Resolved that Report DPW17-13, dated March 2, 2017, regarding Award of Contract PWC17-52130-B, Supply of One (1) New 2017 12” Disc Style Single Axle Brush Chipper be received; and further, that the bid from Nortrax Canada Inc., Stoney Creek, Ontario, in the amount of $49,944 (excluding HST) for one (1) new 12” disc style single axle brush chipper be accepted.

DiFlavio; Resolved that Report DPW17-14, dated March 2, 2017, regarding Award of Contract PWC17-52130-C, Supply of One (1) New 2017 Dump Truck 4 x 4 c/w Plow (16,500 lbs.) be received; and further, that the bid from Grimsby Ford Sales and Service, Grimsby, Ontario, in the amount of $61,255 (excluding HST) for one (1) New 2017 Dump Truck 4 x 4 (16,500 lbs.) complete with plow be accepted.

Resolved that the Grimsby DIA minutes of January 21, 2017 be received as circulated and filed for records purposes and further, that Town Council also supports the Grimsby Farmer's Market as host on Main Street from Christie Street to Ontario Street for five (5) years from 2017 to 2022.

Resolved that the Director be authorized to construct a sidewalk on the south side of Kennedy Road and approximately 75 metres northerly along the west side of Nelles Road to connect with the existing sidewalk from Main Street East and further, that the project estimated at $60,000 be completed as soon as possible with the Director authorized to accept the low quote within the estimated cost Page 5 of 5 Public Works Committee March 8, 2017 and further, that the funds be made available from the Subdivision Administration Reserve.
