Public Works Committee

Dunstall; Resolved that Report DPW17-39 dated October 2, 2017 regarding the Town Hall Cogen Station Maintenance and Operation be received; and that the Public Works Committee recommends to Council that the Cogen Station continue operation with one turbine as Page 2 of 5 Public Works Committee October 25, 2017 recommended herein and staff further investigate the cause of malfunction and possible solutions.

DiFlavio; Resolved that Report DPW17-40 dated October 20, 2017 to Council regarding Place Polonaise Drive – Parking Restrictions be received and that the Public Works Committee recommends approval of the parking restrictions as presented herein as a Schedule to this report.

Kadwell; Resolved that Report DPW17-41 dated October 20, 2017 regarding the Release of Statutory Holdbacks for Kennedy Road and Nelles Road Sidewalk Construction be received and that the Director be authorized to release the 10% Construction Lien Holdback in the amount of $9,918.70, and release the 2% One-Year Maintenance Holdback, in the amount of $1,983.74 when due on August 4, 2018 payable to 1526957 Ontario Limited, o/a CTC Contracting Ltd.

Dunstall; Resolved that the Public Works Committee recommends Report DPW17-42 dated October 19, 2017 regarding 2017 Annual RQMS Management Review Report be received by Town Council for review and information.

Resolved that Report DPW17-43, dated October 20, 2017, regarding the final payment and release of the 10% Construction Lien Hold Back and the 2% One-Year Maintenance Holdback for – Contract PWC17-02-320032C, Inglehart Road Culvert Replacement be received, and that the Director be authorized to release the 10% Construction Lien Hold Back payable to Catalina Excavation Inc, in the amount of $13,219.39, and further that the Director of Public Works be authorized to release the 2% One-Year Maintenance Hold Back in the amount of $2,643.88 on August 31, 2018.

Resolved that the Public Works Committee recommends approval of Report DPW17-44, 11th Street Shoreline Protection Works (and Murray Street Park Shoreline Protection Maintenance) dated October 20, 2017 to Council, and that the Director be authorized to award the contract to the single bidder, O’Hara Trucking and Excavating in the tendered amount of $223,150.00 (excluding H.S.T.); and further, that the Mayor and the Town Clerk be authorized to execute the contract documents.

DiFlavio; Resolved that the Public Works Committee recommends approval of Report DPW17-45 dated October 24, 2017, regarding the release of the 10% Construction Lien Holdback, and the 2% One-Year Maintenance Holdback – Contract PWC16-06-440035-Part 2- Page 4 of 5 Public Works Committee October 25, 2017 Elizabeth Street, 2016 Capital Watermain Rehabilitation be received, and that the Director be authorized to release the 10% Construction Lien Holdback in the amount of $19,706.06 (Excluding HST) and further release the 2% One-Year Maintenance Holdback in the amount of $3,941.21 (Excluding HST) when due on July 21, 2018 to Nexterra Substructures Inc.

Resolved that the DIA meeting minutes of August 15 and September 19, 2017 be received as circulated and filed for records purposes.
