Resolved that the Board receive the CEO/Chief Librarian’s updated report on the Library’s Recovery Plan. Furthermore, that the Grimsby Public Library Board approves the services offered during the recovery period as stated within the Plan and authorizes the CEO/Chief Librarian to make adjustments to the Recovery Plan as circumstances change within the province, when Public Health makes recommendations, and any changes that will serve to maintain a safe workplace. The Board requests a notification from the CEO/Chief Librarian if any substantive changes to the Recovery Plan are enacted.

Resolved that Grimsby Public Library Board supports the FOPL (Federation of Ontario Public Libraries) Board’s statement of solidarity with the black community against systematic racism. Further, the Grimsby Public Library Board commits to reviewing our policies and procedures, and will approach the updating of the Strategic Plan with a lens of anti-racism, diversity and inclusion.

Resolved that the Board approve that the CEO/Chief Librarian may Page 4 of 4 Grimsby Public Library Board June 10, 2020 make exceptions and changes to the current Lending Policy #0-11-01 during the CoVID-19 pandemic. These exceptions are only to be made when current procedures present challenges to maintaining a safe workplace, or for compassionate reasons while our community is in recovery. This flexibility with the Lending Policy will remain in effect until the Board recalls this motion.
