Whereas the Town of Grimsby has seen an increase in requests to film in Grimsby; and Whereas the Town of Grimsby does not currently have a Film Policy in place to detail expectations of conduct during the film production process; and Whereas a Film Policy will also provide a fee structure to capture revenue for the Town of Grimsby and any expenses incurred as a result of filming; and Whereas a Film Policy has already been incorporated in neighbouring municipalities, such as the Town of Lincoln, St. Catharines and Hamilton; Therefore be it resolved that the Community Services Department explore the Film Policy for Niagara Parks, and Town of Lincoln, and prepare a brief report with recommendations for consideration to the Community Services Committee on August 24, 2023.
