Public Works Committee

Bentley; Resolved that Report DPW17-21 dated May 15, 2017 regarding Award of Contract PWC17-52130-D, Supply of One (1) New Single Page 2 of 6 Public Works Committee June 14, 2017 Engine Tandem Axle Combination Sewer Cleaner and Hydrovac Truck be received; and further, that the bid from C.M. Equipment Ontario Inc., Ajax, Ontario, in the amount of $501,141.88 (excluding HST) for one (1) New Single Engine Tandem Axle Combination Sewer Cleaner and Hydrovac Truck (Freightliner cab/chassis and Vac-Con body) be accepted.

DiFlavio; Resolved that the Public Works Committee recommends approval of Report DPW17-22 dated May 26, 2017 regarding the ‘2017 Annual Drinking Water QMS Operational Plan Endorsement’ be received by Town Council and that: 1. Council endorse the current revision of the Drinking Water QMS Operational Plan, dated June 2017; 2. The Mayor be authorized to sign the current revision of the Drinking Water QMS Operational Plan; and 3. Council re-endorse the existing Drinking Water QMS Policy statement.

Bentley; Resolved that the Public Works Committee recommends approval of Report DPW17-23 dated May 26, 2017 regarding the ‘2017 Annual Roads QMS Operational Plan Endorsement’ be received by Town Council and that: Page 3 of 6 Public Works Committee June 14, 2017 1. Council endorse the current revision of the Roads QMS Operational Plan, dated June 2017; 2. The Mayor be authorized to sign the current revision of the Roads QMS Operational Plan; and 3. Council re-endorse the existing Roads QMS Policy statement.

DiFlavio; Resolved that Report DPW17-23 dated May 31, 2017, regarding Town Hall Cogen Station Repairs be received and that it be recommended to Council for approval based on the igniter repair to both turbines at an estimated cost of $7,000 plus tax and should the combustion liner be damaged during the igniter repair, that the Director be authorized to repair one liner at an estimated additional cost of $7,000.

Bentley; Resolved that Report DPW17-25 dated June 7, 2017 regarding the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF) Grant Award be received and the Public Works Committee recommends to Council that the Report be approved; and that the tender process be started for the approved watermain projects; and further, that the Administration / Inspection costs by Quartek Group Ltd. be approved at $490 per day plus tax and disbursements; and that the Town funding be approved from the Town’s Water Reserve and that the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized to sign the necessary agreement.

DiFlavio; Resolved that the Public Works Committee recommends report DPW17-26, dated June 8, 2017 regarding the award of Contract PWM17-242-34200, Sanitary Sewer Flushing & CCTV Inspection be received and that the Director of Public Works be authorized to award the contract to Hurricane SMS Inc. in the total tender amount of $53,978.75, excluding HST, and further, that the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized to execute the contract documents.

Bentley; Resolved that Report DPW17-27 dated June 8, 2017 regarding the Award of Contract PWC17-02-320032C, Inglehart Road Culvert Replacement be approved, and further, that the Director be authorized to award the contract to the low bidder, Catalina Excavating Inc., in the tendered amount of $107,398.00 (excl. HST); and further, that the Mayor and the Town Clerk be authorized to execute the contract documents.

Bentley; Resolved that the Public Works Committee receive the GDIA meeting minutes of April 19, 2017 as distributed and file for records purposes.
