Grimsby Heritage Advisory Committee

Resolved, that Report GH 23-11 - Heritage Analysis - Proposed Consent Application at 260 Main Street East be received; and That the Grimsby Heritage Committee endorses staff comments and that these comments be provided to the Land Division Committee for their consideration.

Resolved, that 105 Mountain Road be designated under Part IV Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act; and that a Notice of Intention to designate be issued in accordance with the Ontario Heritage Act.

Resolved, that the election of the Chair and Vice Chair be postponed until the next Grimsby Heritage Advisory Committee meeting when all committee members are in attendance.

Resolved, that the May 9, 2023 Grimsby Heritage Advisory meeting agenda be approved.

Resolved that Grimsby Heritage Advisory Committee minutes of April 11, 2023 be approved.

Resolved, that Report GH 23-08 – 123 Sawmill Road – Municipal Heritage Register Greenhouse Demolition Request dated May 9th, 2023, be received; and That the demolition request for the greenhouse at 123 Sawmill Road be recommended for approval; and That the greenhouse at 123 Sawmill Road be photo documented and copies be provided to the Grimsby Historical Society for their archives; and That viable material from the greenhouse be recycled to avoid re-useable materials from going into the landfill.

Resolved, that Report GH 23-09 - 162 Main Street West – Municipal Heritage Register Garage and Deck Demolition Request dated May 9th, 2023, be received; and That the demolition request for the garage and deck at 162 Main Street West be recommended for approval; and That the garage and deck on 162 Main Street West be photo documented and copies be provided to the Grimsby Historical Society for their archives; and That viable material from the garage and deck be salvaged and/or offered to salvage companies to avoid high-quality materials going into the landfill, including the two sets of doors salvaged from 22 Main Street West (Casa Toscana).

Resolved, that Report GH 23-10 - Heritage Grant Application 245 Main Street East be received; and That the Designated Heritage Property Grant application for 245 Main Street East for $6195.81 combined Regional and Municipal contribution for the painting and column restoration be endorsed subject to the following condition: a. The owner/applicant provide final restoration details for review and approval by Town heritage planning staff prior to conducting restoration work. That the Heritage Grimsby Advisory Committee recommend that staff prepare the associated documents authorizing the execution of a Heritage Improvement and Restoration Grant Agreement and that the Grant Agreement be signed by the Applicant, the Mayor and the Town Clerk.

Resolved, that 129 Main Street West be designated under Part IV Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act; and that a Notice of Intention to designate be issued in accordance with the Ontario Heritage Act.

Resolved, that 266 Main Street West be designated under Part IV Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act; and that a Notice of Intention to designate be issued in accordance with the Ontario Heritage Act.
