Public Works Committee

Resolved that Report DPW16-15 dated May 5, 2016 regarding the Award of Contract PWC16-02-320002, 2016 Hot Mix Paving Program be received and that the Director be authorized to award the contract to the low bidder, Associated Paving and Materials Ltd. in the tendered amount of $884,751.75 (excluding H.S.T.) and further, that the Director be authorized to carry out the additional work as recommended and further, that the Mayor and the Town Clerk be authorized to execute the contract documents.

Resolved that Report DPW16-16 dated May 5, 2016, regarding Winston Road and Windward Drive Road Reconstruction – Consulting Engineer’s Design be received and that the Consulting Engineering firm of CIMA Canada Ltd. be employed by the Town to carry out the reconstruction and road widening design of this section of roadway at an upset limit fee of $57,500 (plus HST).

Resolved that Report DPW16-17 dated May 10, 2016 regarding the Page 3 of 4 Public Works Committee May 11, 2016 tender Award of Contract PWC16-04-400002 Sanitary Sewer and Manhole Rehabilitation be received and that the Director of Public Works be authorized to award the contract to Nieltech Services Limited in the total tender amount of $348,188.43 (excluding HST) and further, that the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized to execute the contract documents.

Resolved that Report DPW16-18 dated May 10, 2016, regarding Town Development Charges – Proposed Amendment Study - Road Projects be received and the proposed amendments to the current 2014 Grimsby Development Charges be approved and that the firm of C.N. Watson be employed at a cost of $17,900 (plus HST) to carry out this Development Charges Amendment Study, and further, that the traffic consulting firm of CIMA Engineering be employed by the Town to carry out the Traffic Operations Study for future development at Casablanca Blvd. between Winston Road (North Service Road) and the South Service Road for the fee of $38,960 plus tax.

DiFlavio; Resolved that the correspondence received from Nick Stoehr of Trisport Events Inc., to request approval for Jerry's Peach Bud Road Race scheduled for June 28, 2016, and be authorized to use Town roads for the event subject to all notifications and insurance requirements being submitted prior to the event.

Resolved that the GDIA minutes of March 15, 2016 be received as circulated and filed for records purposes.
