Public Works Committee

Resolved that Report DPW12-21 dated June 4, 2011 regarding ‘Annual Drinking Water Quality Management System (DWQMS) Operational Plan Re-endorsement’ be received by Town Council for review and that this report and the following recommendations be approved: 1. That Council endorse the current revision of the DWQMS Operational Plan, included with this report as Appendix ‘A’; and, Page 2 of 4 Public Works Committee June 13, 2012 2. That Council re-endorse the DWQMS Policy statement, included with this report as Appendix ‘B’; and, 3. That the Mayor be authorized to execute Section 3.0 of the DWQMS Operational Plan endorsing the current revision of the document; and, 4. That the Public Works Department be authorized to submit the executed DWQMS Operational Plan to the Ministry of Environment’s Accreditation Body.

Resolved that Report DPW12-19, dated May 23, 2012, regarding Contract for 2012 Catch Basin Cleaning be received; and further, that the quote from Flow Kleen Technology for the catch basin cleaning unit price of $15.79 (HST excluded) be accepted.

Resolved that Report DPW12-20, dated May 23, 2012, regarding Purchase of Additional 2012 Pickup and 2012 Dump Truck as per Contracts PWC12- 52130-A and PWC12-52130-C be received; and further, that the purchase of another new 2012 full-size, 4-door extended cab pickup truck (7,000 lbs. GVWR) from Performance Chrysler Dodge Jeep in the amount of $19,463 Page 3 of 4 Public Works Committee June 13, 2012 (HST excluded) as per Contract PWC12-52130-A and another new 2012 Dump Truck (16,500 lbs. GVWR) from Brock Ford Sales Inc. in the amount of $39,228 (HST excluded) as per Contract PWC-52130-C be approved; and further, that the monies be taken from the 2012 Capital Fleet Budget.

Resolved that Report DPW12-22 dated June 5, 2012 regarding the Award of Contract PWC12-02-320032, Rehabilitation of Beamers Falls Bridge 2012 be received by Town Council for review and that this report and the following recommendations be approved: 1. That the Director of Public Works be authorized to award the contract to the low bidder, Carlington Construction Inc. in the tendered amount of $244,367.00 (excluding H.S.T.) and further, that the Mayor and the Town Clerk be authorized to execute the contract documents; and 2. That the Director of Public Works be authorized to award the contract administration and site inspection work to AECOM Consulting Engineers in the amount of $13,500.00 (excluding H.S.T.); and 3. That Ridge Road West be temporarily closed to all public traffic between Sawmill Road and Ridge Road West (Old Ridge Road) for the approximate period from July 3, 2012 to August 31, 2012 with detours established on Kemp Road West between Woolverton Road and Mountain Street (Regional Road 12).

Resolved that the Grimsby DIA meeting minutes are received for information and filed.
